In 1927 the Campana Company was founded by Ernest Oswalt where he established manufacturing of the Italian Balm (a lotion) and other feminine products. Mr. Oswalt believed in taking care of his employees and gave them as many benefits as he could during this time.

In 1962, the Campana building changed ownership to the Purex Company. During this transition employees not only left the factory but many were injured on the job. Multiple incidents occurred when the formula of the Italian Balm went all wrong in attempts to improve the product. The chemicals that were chosen accidently melted the skin off of several employees. Needless to say Purex kept these incidents very hush, hush and discontinued producing Italian Balm. Purex also had issues with employees falling into the 45,000 gallon water tank used for air conditioning water circulation and fire sprinklers in the building. These employees would become trapped within the tank and be found days later drowned and bloated.

Today, 35 years after Purex closed its doors, there are several sightings of the old factory employees lurking around the building, and there have been several unexplained mysteries within the Campana building. Newspapers call this building 'The Crypts of Campana'.
